Purchasing a Puppy from DHR

 

            At Diamond H Ranch we strive to produce only the finest quality dogs with correct conformation, temperament, and working ability along with making great family companions.  They are socialized with people/kids and interacted with daily.   We love our dogs/puppies and treat them as family, and only offer them to the same situations.  We treasure each puppy in our program and give them all the attention and care that we possibly can.  We work hard so our puppies can leave our home with confidence, ready to take on the world with their new family.  It is an honor to represent the Shorty Jack Russell and Catahoula breeds, and create opportunities for other families to experience the same joy that we've found in raising these wonderful dogs.

 

            Puppies are registered and come with full rights unless stated otherwise.  Registration applications are normally available at the time of puppy pick up date.  If the papers are not in our possession at that time, we will mail them to you.

 

            We offer a wait list/pick list. To get on the wait list it’s $200 (non-refundable).  We don’t reserve a specific puppy for you, we reserve a place “in line” for you to choose a puppy.  We will begin the puppy selection when the puppies are 4 to 5 weeks old.  Each client will be contacted in the order that the deposits were placed.  Depositors will be sent pictures of what is available and will each have 36 hours maximum to make their selection.  This process helps things to move forward in a timely manner.  Please keep in mind that there are other families anxiously waiting to make their selection as well.  If a depositor does not respond within the 36 hour period, we will move to the next depositor in line.  The selection process must be completed by the time the puppies are 6 weeks old so pickup and transportation arrangements can start being arranged.  Any puppies that remain after the waiting list clients have chosen will be offered to the public.  We reserve the right to have pick of the litter in all litters.

 

            To reserve a puppy it’s $450, unless a deposit for the wait list has already been made, then it’s $250.  Wait list and reserve deposits are non refundable, and both are deducted off total price of puppy.

 

            If the puppy can not be picked up by the Buyer, it is the Buyer’s responsibility to make transportation arrangements.  Any items that are requested by transporter (pet taxi, kennel, etc.) will be at the Buyer’s expense.

 

            Since we have no control over what gender, what color or how many puppies are in a litter, it might take more than one litter to get your puppy.  Your deposit will roll over to the next litter until you get a puppy that you’re satisfied with.

 

            In the event of a breeding not “taking” or puppies are lost at nesting or other unforeseen events, your deposit will rollover to the next litter.

 

            Puppies are given their 1st and 2nd vaccines while with us, but this does not mean that they are immune to the diseases they have been vaccinated against.  Please check with your veterinarian and follow up on all recommended boosters and vaccines before taking your puppy to meet the public including:  parks, stores, camping, walking trails, etc.  Taking your puppy to the vet in a crate or carrying them, not allowing them on the floor will help to prevent contracting communicable diseases.  We also recommend a crate, playpen, or to be gated off in a safe area when you cannot supervise your puppy.
